Abilista Fabrication Standards

In these Fabrication Standards (“Estándares de fabricación” or “Standards“) we define the tolerances and quality standards to be used by Providers based on the fabrication process chosen.  Providers shall follow these Standards for the fabrication of Orders submitted through Abilista Platform unless explicitly agreed otherwise with the Client in the Quote provided or through communication in the Platform.

 

Impresión 3D

 

  • The Provider shall choose the optimal build orientation taking into consideration overall surface quality and minimum build time unless otherwise specified by the Client.
  • The Provider is responsible to inform the Client if certain parts with thick geometries, flat or broad parts, and parts with uneven wall thicknesses will be prone to significant deviations or warp due to variable thermal shrinkage and stress.

FDM – Fused Deposition Modeling

+/- 0.100mm (+/- 0.004”) for the first 25mm (1 inch) is typical, plus +/- 0.050mm (+/- 0.002”) for every 25mm (1 inch) thereafter.

+/- 0.250mm (+/- 0.010”) for the first 25mm (1 inch) is typical, plus +/- 0.050mm (+/- 0.002”) for every 25mm (1 inch) thereafter.

SLA – Stereolithography

+/- 0.125mm (+/- 0.005”) for the first 25mm (1 inch) is typical, plus +/- 0.050mm (+/- 0.002”) for every 25mm (1 inch) thereafter.

+/- 0.250mm (+/- 0.010”) for the first 25mm (1 inch) is typical, plus +/- 0.050mm (+/- 0.002”) for every 25mm (1 inch) thereafter.

SLS – Selective Laser Sintering

+/- 0.125mm (+/- 0.005”) for the first 25mm (1 inch) is typical, plus +/- 0.050mm (+/- 0.002”) for every 25mm (1 inch) thereafter.

HP MJF – HP Multi Jet Fusion

+/- 0.300mm (+/- 0.012”) for the first 25mm (1 inch) is typical, plus +/- 0.075mm (+/- 0.003”) for every 25mm (1 inch) thereafter.

PolyJet

+/- 0.100mm (+/- 0.004”) for the first 25mm (1 inch) is typical, plus +/- 0.050mm (+/- 0.002”) for every 25mm (1 inch) thereafter.

Carbon DLS – Digital Light Synthesis

+/- 0.125mm (+/- 0.005”) for the first 25mm (1 inch) is typical, plus +/- 0.050mm (+/- 0.002”) for every 25mm (1 inch) thereafter.

DMLS – Direct Metal Laser Sintering

+/- 0.125mm (+/- 0.005”) for the first 25mm (1 inch) is typical, plus +/- 0.050mm (+/- 0.002”) for every 25mm (1 inch) thereafter.

Mecanizado CNC

  • Sharp edges will be broken and deburred by default. Critical edges that must be left sharp should be noted and specified on a print.
  • Tolerances for features of size (Length, width, height, diameter) and location (position, concentricity, symmetry) should be +/- 0.125mm (+/- 0.005″).
  • Tolerances for features of orientation (parallelism and perpendicularity) and form (cylindrical, flatness, circularity, and straightness) should be as follows:

  • Tolerances of +/- 0.250mm (+/- 0.010″), or +/- 0.075mm (+/- 0.003″) per 25mm (1 inch), whichever is larger. 
  • The Provider is responsible to  inform the Client if certain parts with irregular or overly-thick geometries may cause deviances or deflection due to shrinkage
  • The Provider is responsible to  inform the Client if grow lines may be present on internal or difficult-to-access features when applying surface finishes.

Moldeado de Inyección

  • The lead time stated in the Quote is for the first inspection parts. The production time will be confirmed once the first inspection parts are approved.
  • The Provider shall match parts color as per Pantone color when provided.
  • Provider’s Quotes are based upon the assumption that designs have an adequate draft, radii, and coring for manufacturability.
  • Cores, side actions, and tooling strategies are determined by the Provider unless explicitly specified by the Client.
  • Unless otherwise noted, all dimensions will have tolerances of +/- 0.250mm (+/- 0.010″) between the produced parts and the 3D CAD file. 
  • Gating, ejection, knit lines, and parting lines are at the discretion of the Provider unless explicitly specified by the Client.

Ensamblaje

 

  • The Provider shall ensure the fit of mating parts when explicitly specified by the Client.
